Movie Night: The Princess and the Frog
To help keep the Great Lawn safe, comfortable, and enjoyable for everyone, please review our guidelines below before arriving.
As a tasty lead-up to Saturday’s Pimento Cheese Festival, join us for a magical screening of The Princess and the Frog (PG).
A prince is transformed into a frog and accidentally curses a beautiful princess with an amphibian form as well when he kisses her in an attempt to break the spell. The two then go a wild journey through the bayous of Louisiana in hopes of finding a voodoo priestess who may be able to restore their true forms.
Come early to enjoy pre-screening activities for all ages, making it a perfect night out for everyone. Get ready for a magical evening full of bayou charm and pre-show fun! Join us from 6–7:30 PM on Academy Plaza and Pavilion for a lively lineup of activities before we settle in to watch Princess & the Frog. Snap a whimsical photo at Miss Odie’s photobooth—complete with her big, beautiful chair and even an optional slithering friend (yes, real snakes and frog encounters, thanks to the Traveling Tortoise!). Let your creativity shine with hands-on “creature crafts” inspired by frogs, snakes, and glowing lightning bugs, and don’t miss a very special appearance by Princess Tiana herself. Before the movie begins, listen closely… a New Orleans–inspired surprise may make its way across the Great Lawn and have you up and dancing! It’s an evening of magic, music, and a little bit of mischief you won’t want to miss! The film begins at sunset at the Great Lawn Pavilion (about 7:45 p.m.).
Grab your cushions, blankets, and chairs for ultimate comfort as you settle in to enjoy the film. Food trucks will also be on site. Empanadas & More and Mr. A’s Beignets food trucks will also be on site from 4 – 9 p.m. at Park St Courts.
