Downtown Cary Park Ushers In the Holiday Season With “A Gift to Cary” Celebration
Day long celebration to include festivities designed to invoke all the wonder of the winter season
November 28, 2023 — CARY, N.C. — Downtown Cary Park is kicking off the holidays with its “A Gift to Cary Celebration” this Saturday, Dec. 2. Guests can get a firsthand look at the new state-of-the-art Park transformed for the holidays and enjoy a full day of programming including special live performances, Cary’s Official Tree Lighting Ceremony, unique photo opportunities, a skating rink, Santa’s workshop, which will offer a wide range of creative activities, and more.
“We’re thrilled to kickstart the holiday season with the Cary community through our ‘A Gift to Cary’ celebration,” said Joy Ennis, general manager of Downtown Cary Park. “We’ve deliberately planned a range of programming options for those of all ages and abilities, and we’re looking forward to having visitors from the Triangle and beyond join us to officially get the holiday season underway.”
The Dec. 2 event will include a full day of engaging activities, including a live performance from America’s Got Talent Season 9 finalists Sons of Serendip and Cary’s Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony, which will take place at 6 p.m. ET, followed by Cary’s first ever drone light show. Read on for the highlights of the celebration:
- 10 a.m. — Shuttles begin running from Cary High School
- 10 a.m – 4 p.m. — Photos with Santa (Academy Pavilion)
- 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. — Snow Machine and Snowball Fights (The Nest)
- 10:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. — Community Performances (Great Lawn Pavilion)
- 1 – 9 p.m. – Skating Rink (Park Street Courts)
- 6 p.m. — Cary’s Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony (Great Lawn Pavilion/Frantz Square)
- 6:15 p.m. — Drone Light Show #1 (In the Sky Above Cary Arts Center)
- 6:30 – 8 p.m. – Sons of Serendip Performance (Great Lawn Pavilion)
- 8:05 p.m. – Drone Light Show #2 (In the Sky Above Cary Arts Center)
- 10:45 p.m. — Last shuttle departs the Park
