Downtown Cary Park provides a guided tour led by a knowledgeable staff member who offers insights into the Park’s features and amenities. Additionally, we offer a self-guided nature tour through the park, a self-guided historical tour down South Academy Street including the park and a self-guided public art tour around the downtown area.

Nature

Explore our self-guided nature tour of Downtown Cary Park, highlighting the diverse plantings, seasonal landscapes, and ecological features woven throughout the space. Headphones are recommended if you would like to listen to the recordings narrated by Park Horticulturist, Dr. Patrick McMillan.

This tour divides the Park into nine different areas and highlights the plants, wildlife, and natural features you may discover in each location throughout the seasons.

Historical

Explore the history of downtown Cary on a self-guided walking tour! Take a trip back in time to see how the downtown district has grown and changed.

This tour features several historical stops along South Academy Street, from the Cary Arts Center to E. Chatham Street.

Public Art

Explore the vibrant heart of Downtown Cary with our self-guided public art walking tour! Immerse yourself in rich creativity, featuring stunning sculptures, murals, and installations.

This tour includes art pieces spanning from Kay Struffolino Park on Kildaire Farm Road to Town Hall and over to the corner of E. Chatham Street and SE Maynard Road.

To request a guided park tour, fill out the request form below no later than two weeks prior to your visit. You will receive an automated reply once you submit your request. Our Operations Support Assistant will respond within 2-4 business days to confirm your dates and provide more info prior to your visit.
