Join Downtown Cary Park for our Ribbon Cutting event! This day will be full of celebration, entertainment, and fun for the whole family!

We will be hosting the Downtown Cary Park Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on November 19 with local dignitaries in attendance to officially commemorate this important moment in town history. This event will boast live performances, a Bandit Flight Team flyover, arts and crafts, synchronized light shows, food trucks, and more!

T ICKETS

  • This event is free to attend, and tickets are not required, but we strongly encourage you to RSVP. RSVPs help us plan for how many people to expect and you can receive important event updates including inclement weather information.

W EATHER/CANCELLATIONS

  • If we need to postpone or cancel due to inclement weather, we will communicate through Eventbrite email. For event related updates, you can also visit our website, text DCP to 51597, or follow us on socials (Instagram @DowntownCaryPark, Facebook and Twitter @DTCaryPark). Downtown Cary Park has the right to cancel programs onsite if severe weather impacts the event or poses a safety risk.

D IRECTIONS & PARKING

  • This event will be held throughout all areas of Downtown Cary Park (327 S. Academy St, Cary, NC 27511)
  • Due to the high volume of attendees, we highly encourage you to utilize our shuttles, public transit, rideshare services or carpool.
  • Free shuttles to the Park are available for visitors that park at the Town Hall Parking Deck (121 Wilkinson Ave, Cary, NC 27513) and Cary Academy (1500 N Harrison Ave, Cary, NC 27513). Shuttles will run from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. The last departure from the Park will be at 8:45 p.m. ADA accessible shuttles will be available.
  • Make the most of the free GoCary bus service to easily access the Park. All eight GoCary bus routes conveniently connect at the Cary Depot which is less than half a mile to the Park. To plan your trip or access the GoCary Ride Guide please visit GoCary.org.
  • A rideshare drop-off location for the Park is available on S. Walker St. near The Walker building.
  • Free public parking is available in the following areas:
  1. Parking Deck located behind the Cary Regional Library - 113 Walnut St, Cary, NC 27511
  2. Gravel Parking Lot next to the Parking Deck on Walnut Street - 105 Walnut St, Cary, NC 27511
  3. Designated Street Parking throughout Downtown
  4. Town Hall Parking Deck - 121 Wilkinson Ave, Cary, NC 27513
  5. Chamber of Commerce Parking Lot - 307 N Academy St, Cary, NC 27513
  6. First Baptist Church, Cary - 218 S Academy St, Cary, NC 27511 (only after 12:30 p.m.)
  7. Designated ADA parking ONLY - Cary Elementary School (bus drop off area) - 400 Kildaire Farm Rd, Cary, NC 27511
  • Please note, the following parking lots and areas will not be open to the public:
  1. S. Academy St will be closed from Park St. to Dry Ave from 9 a.m. – 8 p.m.
  2. The parking lot on Charlie Gaddy Lane (Old Library Site)
  3. The parking lot at the Cary Arts Center
  4. The parking lot behind Cary Elementary located off Faculty Drive
  5. The First United Methodist Church - 117 S Academy St, Cary, NC 27511

F OOD & DRINK

  • The Park has two food and beverage facilities. The Bark Bar will serve beer and wine as well as non-alcoholic beverages and light snacks. Market 317, located in Academy Pavilion, is an elevated grab and go style café that will offer delicious wraps, sandwiches, charcuterie boards and more.
  • For water, there are four bottle filling stations located at various locations throughout the Park.
  • Guests can bring their own food into the Park, but outside alcoholic beverages are not permitted. You may, however, purchase and consume alcohol from participating permitted businesses within the social district.
  • Food trucks will also be onsite for this event.

R ESTROOMS & DOGS

  • There are 5 individual bathroom areas and 24 total public toilets throughout the Park.
  • Leashed, friendly dogs are welcome throughout the Park, but please use your best judgement to determine if your dog will enjoy the event! With a dog park pass, the Barkyard is accessible from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.
