Blessing of the Animals
Bring your animal companion to our community Blessing of the Animals as we celebrate the love, companionship, and joy animals bring to our lives!
In honor of the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi, this outdoor gathering offers a moment to pause and celebrate our bond with our pets. We’ll begin with a brief community blessing, followed by individual blessings where you can share your companion’s name and what makes them special.
Know Before You Go
- All Are Welcome. This inclusive community gathering warmly welcomes people of all faith traditions—and those with none. We will also honor beloved animals who are no longer with us.
- Your Animal Sets the Pace. Animals don’t need to sit quietly or approach the chaplain. If your companion is shy, anxious, elderly, or reactive, we are happy to offer a blessing from a comfortable distance. Please keep everyone’s safety and comfort in mind.
- Come as you are. Bring the companion you love.
