Kwanzaa Poetics
Gather for an inspiring evening of poetry, spoken word, drumming, and creative expression rooted in the seven principles of Kwanzaa, the Nguzo Saba. Through powerful words, rhythm, stories, and reflection, local poets and drummers will explore themes of unity, self-determination, collective responsibility, purpose, creativity, cooperative economics, and faith.
The evening will celebrate the power of creative expression to connect, inspire, and strengthen community. Poetry will be performed by Darrell Stover, Shambo Medina, Thomasi McDonald, Ayanna Gay, Maestra Emcee, and Abena Disroe. The program will culminate with an open invitation for members of the public to share their own thoughts, reflections, and ideas through spoken word, creating a collective space for voices to be heard and stories to be shared.
Come listen, reflect, connect, and add your voice to an evening rooted in culture, creativity, community, and celebration.
