Live at Lunch: Jake + Johanna of the Soul Psychedelique Orchestra
Spend lunch at Downtown Cary Park enjoying live musical performances as the melodious backdrop for the break in your day.
Live music will be performed by Jake and Johanna of the Soul Psychedelique Orchestra on Academy Plaza. Jake and Johanna are an acoustic power pop duo based in Raleigh, NC and hail from the popular show band The Soul Psychedelique Orchestra.
Johanna Boberg decided to relocate from Los Angeles, CA to Raleigh, NC in 2008, where she’s seen singing mainly with “The Soul Psychedelique Orchestra” and “Jake+Johanna Acoustic Duo”. “As I grew older, I always knew music was going to be in my life one way or another”. She started studying music at a young age and just kept going, since a backup plan was never an option. After attending a Music High School, she decided to move to Hollywood, CA to attend Musicians Institute. There she further grew as a musician/vocalist and eventually joined the staff for 5 years. Being a well-rounded and educated vocalist gave her opportunities that took her in directions she never thought was possible. She became a sought-after studio vocalist and live performer. Over the years, she’s performed with artists like Hilary Duff, Christopher Williams, Maroon 5, and Rod Stewart, and appeared on national television shows including The Tonight Show, Jimmy Kimmel Live, Ellen DeGeneres, Much Music Awards, The Today Show, and Good Morning America.
Jake Rowe picked up the guitar at age eight and never put it down. A seasoned performer, he’s played with bands throughout Florida and North Carolina, including Orlando’s The Bloody Jug Band. He studied show production and touring at Full Sail University and brings that behind-the-scenes knowledge to every performance. Now based in Raleigh, Jake performs regularly with The Soul Psychedelique Orchestra and in intimate sets with Johanna as part of their acoustic duo, always driven by a passion for creating and sharing live music.
