May the 4th Be with You
It’s time to choose your side. Will you “Embrace the Dark Side” or “Join the Resistance” at our May the Fourth Star Wars celebration? Grab your best Star Wars gear and costumes and join us in the Park for a celebration of a galaxy far, far away.
- 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. – Art Cart with Star Wars Crafts – The Nest Pavilion
- 4 p.m. – 9 p.m. – Food Trucks offering Star Wars themed items (DonutNV, Bobasaur, and Fiori Trattoria) – Park Street
- 4 p.m. – Padawan Pet Pics with Joanne Wetzel of Five Freedoms Photography – The Bark Bar
- 4 p.m. – Photos with Star Wars Cosplayers – Throughout the Park
- 5 p.m. – Giveaways from Chatham Street Animal Hospital
- 5 p.m. – ChewBARKa’s Runway-Dog Costume Contest (REGISTER HERE) – Park Street Arena
- Dress up your pets in their Star Wars cosplay and SkyWALK the runway to compete in this contest. First and second place prizes from Phydeaux-by Feeder’s Pet Supply will be awarded to the winners in the Light Side, BARK Side, and ChewBARKa categories. Judging will happen in less than 12 parsecs by the galaxy’s finest: Nora Tunney of All Dogs Allowed, Tom Vibert an Air Force K9 Combat Veteran and Cary PD Senior Police Officer, and Kylo Ren himself.
- 5 p.m. – 9 p.m. – 360° Photo Booth – Great Lawn Pavilion
- 5 p.m. – Jedi Training Workshop #1 – Great Lawn Pavilion
- APPLAUSE! Cary Youth Theater instructors lead participants in learning some basic stage combat moves ‘in character’ as Jedis receive a free Padawan training light saber.
- 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. – Star Wars Trivia with Hammered Trivia – The Bark Bar
- 6 p.m. – Jedi Training Workshop #2 – Great Lawn Pavilion
- This is a repeat of the first session. APPLAUSE! Cary Youth Theater instructors lead participants in learning some basic stage combat moves ‘in character’ as Jedis receive a free Padawan training light saber.
- 7 p.m. – Choreographed Stage Battle with APPLAUSE! Cary Youth Theater Instructors – Great Lawn Pavilion
- 7:15 p.m. – 10 p.m. – Silent Disco with DJ Rang, DJ Nevy, and Lauren Soveriegn – Great Lawn
- Enjoy three different channels featuring a wide variety of music to fit each persons taste. From Latin and Bollywood to Top40 and EDM, there is bound to be something to get you dancing on the great lawn.
- NOTE: This program is free, but an I.D. is required to check out the silent disco headphones. Individuals ages 12-17 will need an adult with them. Individuals under 12 are not permitted at the silent disco.
Getting Here & Parking
- Please note that some levels of the parking deck behind the Cary Regional Library are closed for maintenance. Plenty of parking is available at the Town Hall Deck which is a short walk from the Park. Parking is also available at designated street spots, the lot on Charlie Gaddy Lane and other public lots in Downtown Cary.
- Make the most of the free GoCary bus service to easily access the Park. Routes 5 and 6 both stop right at the Park. All eight GoCary bus routes conveniently connect at the Cary Depot which is less than half a mile from the Park. To plan your trip or access the GoCary Ride Guide please, visit GoCary.org.
- A rideshare drop-off location for the Park is available on S. Walker St. near The Walker building.

- Most activities are suitable for all ages, but individuals ages 12-17 will need an adult with them to check out silent disco headphones. Individuals under 12 are not permitted at the silent disco.
